about
I'm Joya! LAU senior biology student and deeply passionate about teaching and about transmitting knowledge in a way that helps students feel comfortable, confident, and capable. As a senior Biology pre-med student who has consistently excelled academically, I care deeply about creating a supportive learning environment where all students feel understood rather than overwhelmed. Having worked with students from a wide range of backgrounds, my goal is to teach logic and strategy by adapting to each student’s way of thinking, never forcing a single method on everyone. I aim to help transform your most challenging course into your easiest, and even your favorite.
experience
After achieving near-perfect scores across these subjects, I collaborated with the Lebanese American University (LAU) Tutoring Center to tutor General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry I and II, Genetics, and Biology. I have taught in both individualized one-on-one sessions and large group classes of more than 40 students, tailoring my explanations to different learning styles and levels. Through this work, I have helped nearly 100 students gain clarity, confidence, and long-term problem-solving skills. I have also mentored students through the LAU Peer Mentorship Program and provided targeted MCAT tutoring focused on strategy and reasoning.
background
I am a senior Biology pre-med student at the Lebanese American University, where I maintained a 4.0 GPA. I earned a total MCAT score of 520 (97%), with perfect scores (100%) in the Biology/Biochemistry and Chemical and Physical Foundations sections, including Physics. My strong academic foundation and logical flow in Organic Chemistry, General Chemistry, Genetics, and Biology allows me to break down complex concepts into clear, intuitive frameworks that students can apply confidently across exams and real problem-solving situations.
