about

Hi, my name is Andy Maghames, and I’m a friendly and supportive tutor who believes in clear, structured learning. I focus on creating organized lessons that adapt to each student’s level and needs. I enjoy tutoring because I like working closely with students and helping them build confidence in their abilities. Many students come to me feeling overwhelmed, especially during exam periods or when managing their time, and I aim to guide them through their studies in a calm and practical way. My teaching approach is structured, flexible, and practice-focused. I help students develop a strong understanding of the material while reducing stress and making learning feel more manageable and achievable.

experience

I have experience tutoring both high school and university students, with a strong focus on exam preparation and academic support. I’ve helped high school students in Mathematics and Physics, supporting them in understanding key concepts and preparing confidently for assessments. At the university level, I’ve worked with students across a wide range of engineering and technical subjects, including Calculus, Differential Equations, Probability and Statistics, Engineering Analysis, Mechanics, and Operations Research courses. I also tutor programming and technical tools such as Java, MATLAB, Excel, LINGO, and AutoCAD, as well as applied engineering subjects like Production Systems, Simulation, Material Properties, and Engineering Ethics. My tutoring focuses on structured explanations, practical examples, and targeted practice to help students perform better in exams while reducing stress and confusion.

background

I am a third-year Industrial Engineering student at the Lebanese American University (LAU), Byblos campus, with an expected graduation in 2028. My academic studies have provided me with a strong foundation in mathematics, engineering analysis, and structured problem-solving, which I apply directly in my tutoring sessions to help students understand complex concepts more clearly.
